Terms of Service

Welcome to MyStudyDesk. These terms govern your use of the website, the Android app, and any related services we provide. By creating an account or using MyStudyDesk, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are

MyStudyDesk is operated by Yireh Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd, a South African company. Throughout these terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Yireh Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd.

2. What MyStudyDesk does

MyStudyDesk is a bilingual (English / Afrikaans) study planning and AI tutoring app for South African school and tertiary students. Features include subject management, exam timetable import, study planning, AI study help, AI paper marking, and mark tracking.

3. Eligibility and parental consent

You can use MyStudyDesk if you are a student. If you are under 18, you must have permission from your parent or legal guardian to create an account and to subscribe to Pro. By signing up, you confirm that you have this permission.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens on your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, hateful, or sexual.
• Use MyStudyDesk to cheat on a closed-book exam or assignment that explicitly forbids AI assistance.
• Try to break, scrape, or overload the service.
• Share your account with people who have not paid.
• Resell or rebrand the service.

6. Pro subscription, payments, and refunds

• Pro is R150 per month or R1500 per year. Prices are in South African Rand and include VAT.
• Payment is processed by Paystack. We do not store your card details.
• Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime from the Billing page. You keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period — no refund is given for the partial period, but no further charges occur.
• If a payment fails, we will email you and pause Pro features until you update your card.

7. Your content stays yours

Subjects, notes, photos, papers, and any other content you upload remain yours. We do not claim ownership. We use it only to deliver the service to you (storing it, showing it back to you, and sending it to our AI provider when you ask for AI help).

8. AI is helpful but not infallible

The AI features in MyStudyDesk use large language models, which can be wrong, biased, or invent information. Always double-check important answers against your textbook or teacher. We do not guarantee that AI responses are correct, complete, or suitable for your exam. Treat MyStudyDesk as a study aid, not a replacement for studying.

9. Service availability

We aim for the service to be available 24/7 but we do not guarantee it. There will sometimes be planned maintenance or unexpected outages. We are not liable for missed study time caused by downtime.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by South African law, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive loss arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, after giving you reasonable notice except in cases of clear abuse.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make a material change, we will email registered users at least 14 days beforehand. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any dispute will be heard in a South African court with appropriate jurisdiction.
